Currently, China's FRP pipe industry is developing slowly. The FRP pipe processing capacity of China lags behind that of developed countries.
1. Unsaturated polyester resin factories
At present, China has about 400-500 unsaturated polyester resin factories, but only 20 of significant scale. Many factories are poorly equipped with outdated technology and poor quality control. Unsaturated polyester resin products lack variety, and the resin quality is poor. In recent years, five unsaturated polyester resin production lines have been introduced, but the output of isophthalic unsaturated polyester resin remains very small limiting its application in the FRP industry, in addition, the price of the resin is expensive.
2. Additives
Most of China's glass fiber production factories are short of infiltrating materials, so the quality of the alkali-free and medium-alkali rovings are poor. The specification and variety of China¡¯s reinforcing material cannot meet the requirement for producing FRP pipes.
3. Production
Many of China's FRP factories lack qualified technicians. Some FRP factories have no product design, poor material selection standard, few inspection measures and inferior product quality control. Due to the poor quality, pipe leakage issues occur, which brings about economic losses. In these cases, users lose confidence in FRP pipes£¬so the reputation and promotion of the FRP pipe industry are negatively affected.   ¡¡
