Enercon Industries Corp. (Germantown, Wis., U.S.) announces the opening of its new Surface Treating Laboratory, a facility designed to demonstrate and develop the latest advancements in atmospheric plasma and flame surface treatment.

Located at the company’s corporate headquarters in Germantown, Wisconsin, the lab will provide customers with a controlled environment to explore how Enercon’s technologies — such as its Blown-arc, Blown-ion and Multiport plasma and flame surface treaters — enhance surface energy for improved adhesion of inks, adhesives and coatings. Featuring real-time testing and diagnostic tools to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, the lab is a hub for innovation and collaboration. Customers are invited to attend lab trials in person or participate virtually.

Plasma and flame pretreatment cleans, etches and functionalizes plastics, metal, composites and glass surfaces to increase wettability for printing, coating and decorating. These technologies are used by manufacturers for applications in the automotive, packaging, window and door, medical, wire and cable, battery, electronics, assembly, printing, decorating and folding carton industries.

To celebrate the launch, Enercon recently hosted a live broadcast from the lab, featuring demonstrations and expert insights into how surface treatment prepares surfaces for adhesion.
