Greenlander (Bremen, Germany), a brand of Next Horizon Mobility GmbH, and Boxmanufaktur (Sottrum), a Willenbrock Fahrzeugbau GmbH brand, announce the launch of a strategic manufacturing partnership. The goal is to expand production capacity for the Greenlander Sherpa camper and jointly implement customized vehicle solutions based on natural fiber composites.
Greenlander develops and supplies the large-format natural fiber sandwich panels (up to 6 × 2.45 meters) that form the heart of the Sherpa cab. Boxmanufaktur handles the CNC cutting, structural bonding and installation of doors and windows. The bodyshell (“casco”), manufactured at Boxmanufaktur, is then shipped to Greenlander in Bremen, where it is connected to its respective chassis via the Greenlander Smart frame — a pre-installed substructure system that already integrates all central functions such as fresh and wastewater systems, electrical systems, heating and sensors.
This is followed by painting and interior fittings — including furniture, technology, storage space and final tuning. The finished vehicle is handed over directly to the customer.
“Greenlander is not a traditional vehicle manufacturer. We think from the perspective of the experience — and from the materials,” says Friedrich J. Deimann, managing director of Next Horizon Mobility GmbH. “With Boxmanufaktur, we have a partner who not only understands our vision but also implements it with extensive experience and craftsmanship. The team thinks along with us, knows the processes and delivers reliable high quality.”
Greenlander is currently preparing its next development steps. New construction slots for the Sherpa on the Iveco Daily 4×4 will be available starting in Q4 2026. The company also plans to make the Sherpa available on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4×4 starting in 2027. The brand’s planned model range extension will involve a further increase in production volume. Production infrastructure will be scaled up for this purpose in collaboration with Boxmanufaktur.

Boxmanufaktur produces around 150 cabs per year and specializes in modular composite lightweight construction. Its proximity to Greenlander in Bremen enables short lines of communication and close coordination, a crucial factor for scaling while maintaining consistent quality.
This advantage can be seen in the ability to produce customized Greenlander vehicles based on natural fiber sandwich panels — with customized lengths, modified floor plans or special interiors. Other base vehicles are also available upon request.
Boxmanufaktur’s existing product lines — including aluminum and glass fiber-reinforced polymer empty cabs as well as complete vehicles from the Individual and Denali series — remain unaffected and will continue to be marketed under the established umbrella brand.
“Greenlander brings materials that work and components that are well thought out. Not new for the sake of being new — but better because it makes sense in implementation. That’s precisely our benchmark,” concludes Hajo Willenbrock, managing director of Willenbrock Fahrzeugbau GmbH.
