Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province officially released the list of approved projects for the 2026 "Cutting-Edge Leader + X" Science and Technology Program. The project "Development and Application of Carbon Fiber Composites and Equipment for Low-Altitude Aircraft" by Hangzhou Calais Composite Materials Technology Co., Ltd., an enterprise in Yuhang Economic and Technological Development Zone, was successfully selected into the "Cutting-Edge" Program.
As a leading enterprise in China's high-performance fiber composite materials sector, Calais Technology has long been committed to the innovative application of carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP). Currently, the company's independently developed carbon fiber composites have been successfully applied in fields such as new energy intelligent co
nnected vehicles, power battery systems, and low-altitude aircraft structural components. Meanwhile, Calais Technology has established cooperative partnerships with enterprises including Co
ntemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), BYD Auto Co., Ltd., and Changan Automobile Co., Ltd.

Focusing on the lightweight and high-strength requirements of low-altitude aircraft structural components, Calais Technology's project primarily addresses "choke point" technical challenges such as carbon fiber prepreg compression molding processes and integrated forming technologies. The project team plans to develop lightweight carbon fiber UAV components through industry-university-research collaborative innovation, thereby promoting the large-scale application of low-altitude aircraft in scenarios including emergency rescue, intelligent security, and agricultural/environmental protection.
