“Demand for thermoplastic composites reinforced with natural fibers and glass fibers is growing steadily in Europe. To keep pace with this growth, Ecotechnilin, Europe’s leader in this technology, has just commissioned its 4th production line, increasing its capacity to 12 to 13,000 tonnes per year“, says the company.
This organic growth strategy has been planned for 3 years, and the management team has been waiting for the right moment to put this plan into action. “In recent months, we have been negotiating very large contracts that could saturate the production facilities of our two sites, and we decided to launch the project to set up a new line in order to maintain our capacity and provide the best possible support for our customers’ growth,” explains Karim Behlouli, Managing Director of the company. This successful start-up is accompanied by an increase in upstream natural fiber processing capacity to pursue vertical integration, securing supplies and offering full traceability to customers.
Ecotechnilin’s strategy seems to be bearing fruit. In recent weeks, the company has signed major supply contracts for the next seven years.
In addition, EcoTechnilin’s teams have just developed a new ultra-light 250 g/m² GFPP (glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene) non-woven product specifically designed for the sandwich structures market. According to the company, this technical innovation opens up new prospects in the automotive sector.
