She also reports functionally to Philippe Krief, CEO of Alpine and Technical Director of the Renault Group, who is convinced that ‘with her dual role and access to Ampere, […] she will play a key role in the development of Alpine, our “Dream Garage”, and our electrified customer offering worldwide.’
A graduate of INSA Rouen, Anne-Catherine Brieux joined Renault in 1997 as a manufacturing engineer at the Cléon plant (Rouen, France). Two years later, she joined the engineering teams to lead product standardisation projects within the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
In 2006, Anne-Catherine took charge of an engine design office in the mechanical plant, where she managed the first decentralised engine design in the plant for the Duster project.
In 2011, she joined the manufacturing division to take charge of the Engine Assembly department, then Machining in the mechanical plant. After serving as deputy operations manager at the Cléon plant, she moved to Spain to head up the Renault Motores plant in Valladolid in 2017, then the Palencia plant.
In 2023, she was promoted to Director of Quality Strategy, Suppliers and Development within the Renault Group’s Quality Department before being appointed Director of Industrial Operations at Ampere in 2024.
Developing ultra-high-performance vehicles
Alongside the appointment of Anne-Catherine Brieux, Alpine has also announced that Axel Plasse will take up the position of Director of Hypertech Alpine, the brand’s centre of excellence located in Viry-Châtillon (Essonne), on 1 September 2025. He will also join Alpine’s Executive Committee and report to Philippe Krief.

He joins the Hypertech Alpine team to develop ultra-high-performance vehicles, innovate in advanced technologies and accelerate the transformation of the site, with the dual ambition of reaching the podium in motorsport and bringing unique innovative assets to Alpine and the Renault Group.
A graduate of ISAE-Supaero, Ifpen School and HEC Paris, Axel Plasse began his career in 1993 as a test bench engineer at Renault Sport F1. After 23 years in Renault’s motorsport division, he joined the Renault Group in April 2017 as Director of Engine and Gearbox Development Strategy for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. In 2021, he joined the Valeo Group as Director of R&D and Product Marketing for the Power Mechanical division.
Founded in 1955 by Jean Rédélé, the Alpine brand is currently transitioning to electric vehicles and has announced a range of seven models for 2030. On 27 May 2025, Alpine unveiled the A390 in Dieppe, where the car will be produced. The future 5-seater fastback sports car will be the brand’s second 100% electric model after the A290.
In addition to expanding its range, Alpine, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, will also continue its international expansion, particularly in Ireland and the Nordic countries (Norway, Finland and Denmark).
