For the first time, Brazil-based Embraer will exhibit in MSPO, which will take place in Kielce, Poland, on 2-5 September 2025. As part of its growing presence in Europe, the company will be actively promoting its cutting-edge KC-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft to the country and key stakeholders in the region.
The KC-390 Millennium––which entered operation with the Brazilian Air Force in 2019, the Portuguese Air Force in 2023 and the Hungarian Air Force in 2024––has demonstrated a mission capability rate of 93% and mission completion rates above 99% through the current fleet in operation. So far, this 21st century aircraft has been chosen by 11 Air Forces worldwide, including eight European countries and seven NATO members.
The KC-390 can carry more payload (26 tonnes) compared to other medium-sized military transport aircraft and flies faster (470 knots) and farther, being capable of performing a wide range of missions, such as transporting and dropping cargo and troops, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian missions, operating on temporary or unpaved runways, such as packed earth, soil and gravel. The aircraft configured with air-to-air refuelling equipment, with the designation KC-390, has already proven its aerial refuelling capacity both as a tanker and as a receiver, in this case by receiving fuel from another KC-390 using pods installed under the wings.
Poland, “a nation with a rich aerospace heritage”
Embaer’s participation in the event demonstrates its commitment to develop long-term cooperation with the Polish defence and aerospace industry. The company is actively building a robust European ecosystem around the KC-390, fostering synergies in areas such as training, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and R&D. This initiative not only strengthens defence capabilities across Europe but also promotes strategic interoperability among allied nations.
“We are excited to participate in MSPO for the first time. This prestigious event represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite us with our Polish partners. We regard Poland as a nation with a rich and distinguished aerospace heritage, and as a vital member of NATO”, said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “Embraer is committed to fostering meaningful collaboration with the Polish defence industry, and we believe the KC-390 Millennium could play a key role in enhancing regional capabilities and interoperability.”
Embraer’s exhibition in Poland highlights its strategic vision for Europe, where the KC-390 is, the company says, “quickly becoming the tactical transport platform of choice among NATO countries.” By investing in partnerships and innovation, Embraer aims to contribute to a more integrated and resilient European defence landscape.
It should be noted that, according to research firms, the aerospace and defence market is expected to grow over the next decade, driving up the market for composites, which are widely used in the sector. This is why aerospace companies are investing in other continents and, among others, European companies such as Daher and Segula Technologies are setting up operations in Brazil.
JEC is also expanding its presence in Central Europe with the launch of the JEC Forum Central Europe, which will take place in Krakow, Poland, on 17-18 September 2025, in partnership with Targi w Krakowie Ltd. (Trade Fairs in Krakow Ltd.).
