The company says its automated moulding technology allows customers to upload STEP files of component/part designs into Plyable’s machine learning system. The system then calculates the pull directions, automatically extrudes the contours of a shape and adds elements such as laser targeting holes to generate an accurate STEP file of the mould. The process is fully computerised and produces files ready for use by suppliers within minutes. Besides, Plyable states that suppliers have to meet ISO9001 standards ands to prove certain competencies before being allowed to work with Plyable’s clients.

Plyable hopes that this patent will support its customers’ R&D efforts and stimulate innovation in the aerospace, automotive and marine sectors. The company explains that obtaining this patent is important because it proves to investors that the company is capable of delivering innovative technology. Plyable will continue to invest in patents to strengthen its market position.
