This partnership will enable Leading Edge Aviation to renew its fleet of 21 aircraft by the end of 2024, with Elixir models equipped to the latest avionics standards. Elixir Aircraft uses a technology from the world of competitive sailing, the ‘Carbon Oneshot’ (in one piece), to simplify the structures of its aircraft.
“This is just the beginning, with five aircraft on order and other options on the table, which will enable us to remain at the forefront of excellence in aviation training,” said Andy McFarlane, CEO of Leading Edge Aviation.
A new leasing offer
The UK school’s order was boosted by a new leasing offer developed by Elixir Aircraft in partnership with French low-carbon aircraft leasing company Green Aerolease.
This new offer enables vocational schools interested in the Elixir model to acquire their aircraft on a lease basis, including insurance and maintenance.
The 5 aircraft financed by Green Aerolease bring Elixir Aircraft’s order book to more than 300 aircraft.
To keep pace with its accelerating production, Elixir Aircraft is expanding its 3 French sites in La Rochelle. A 15,000 m2 facility will be built there in 2026.
At the same time, Elixir Aircraft is preparing the opening of its American facility in 2025. Located at the Sarasota Bradenton airport in Florida, it will be mainly devoted to the reassembly of aircraft delivered to American customers. Over 200 Elixir aircraft have already been ordered by the American market.
