Vabo Composites (Emmeloord, Netherlands) announces that it has signed a multiyear contract with Anti-Submarine Warfare Frigate (ASWF) Damen Naval (Vlissingen, Netherlands) for the supply of lightweight composite hatches and doors. This contract marks a new step in the development of modern naval vessels.
ASWF is a naval project initiated by the Royal Netherlands Navy and Belgian Navy to replace existing M-Frigates. In October 2024, Dutch shipyard Damen Naval signed a contract for its own deliverables. Vabo — which has contributed to various international naval programs with its composites expertise — says this new contract is a crowning achievement, underscoring its continuous investment in technology and innovation.
“We are proud that our long-term efforts and innovative approach are being recognized in a project of this scale and significance,” says Jeroen van Deutekom, sales and marketing manager at Vabo Composites. “This success motivates us to continue developing sustainable and high-quality solutions for the maritime sector.”
