Core tips:With the help of CEAD, Interfacial closes the gap between formulation and production-ready solutions made from 3D printed thermoplastic materials and functional composites.
Interfacial (River Falls, Wis., U.S.), a Nagase Group company centered around advanced materials innovation, is partnering with CEAD (Delft, Netherlands) to further its mission in providing integrated, application-driven material solutions — including fiber-reinforced thermoplastics — for large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM) and beyond.

Through this partnership, Interfacial becomes a CEAD material tier supplier. Strategic access to a CEAD Flexbot system installed locally at Stack3D will enable Interfacial to rapidly evaluate, validate and refine custom thermoplastic materials and functional composites for a wide range of LFAM applications including:

  • Architectural facades, interior design and canopy structures
  • Retail and hospitality environments
  • Large-scale exterior and bespoke projects
  • Marine, motorsports and industrial tooling.

The pairing of Interfacial’s expertise in functional compounds and scalable manufacturing platforms with CEAD’s robotic 3D printing and CNC milling technology will achieve end-to-end development of LFAM-ready materials tailored for high performance and design flexibility.

“Collaborating with CEAD allows us to close the gap between formulation and production-ready solutions,” says JP Masson, VP of sales at Interfacial. “Together, we can deliver faster development, better performance and broader adoption of LFAM technology.”

A key element of this partnership is the establishment of a regional LFAM innovation hub. It is powered by CEAD’s Flexbot technology, installed locally at Stack3D, a provider of turnkey 3D printing services, and supported by Interfacial’s materials and processing capabilities. The hub will serve as a platform where customers can engage in full-cycle material evaluation, print trials and application support.

With growing demand for large-format additive solutions in sectors from construction to industrial manufacturing, the Interfacial-CEAD partnership is focused on developing scalable, sustainable materials that unlock new applications and drive innovation across industries. “By collaborating closely with Interfacial, we’re aligning machine performance with material behavior from the ground up,” says Andrea Baldolini, head of sales at CEAD.
