At the heart of the aerospace supply chain
With over 30 years of experience in aerospace design and manufacturing, Chris Fleet began his career as an engineering apprentice at BAE Systems, where he trained in aircraft structural design and complex systems integration. After eight years at BAE, he worked internationally with several OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, including Boeing, Airbus, Terma and Marand Precision Engineering. In 2008, he joined Assystem UK as Lead Jig & Tool Design Engineer, then held successive management positions in tooling design at KTL Tooling, Kaman Composites UK, and Hyde Group Engineering. Since 2021, he has been leading the design activities at Airframe Designs, where he has helped to expand the company’s capabilities in the field of design and systems integration.
Founded in 2009, Airframe Designs provides comprehensive services in system integration, airframe engineering and additive manufacturing, combining structural analysis, tooling design, additive manufacturing and certification. Thanks to a team of engineers and in-house capabilities in polymer additive manufacturing, 3D scanning and advanced modelling, the company’s recent projects cover a wide range of areas: integrating new systems into heavy-lift drones, designing structures for unmanned aircraft, and developing digital test benches for digital twin simulation.
