Moritz Fichtmüller holds a doctorate in physics and grew up in Munich. His academic career took him to Paris and Oxford, among other places. His professional career initially took him into consulting before he moved to the chemical industry, where he gained extensive industry experience in management positions at Budenheim and Celanese.
“In Moritz Fichtmüller, we have gained a proven industry expert as CEO,” explains Jan Philipp Wuppermann, spokesperson for the shareholder family and Chairman of the Advisory Board.
“The change in leadership stands for continuity in the successful work of Felix Thalmann, but also for new impetus and perspectives,” adds Wuppermann.
“I am very much looking forward to taking on overall responsibility in such a future-oriented and international family business as Büfa in the coming year and to continuing to shape its long-term orientation together with the entire Büfa team,”’” emphasises Fichtmüller.
After a transition phase with Felix Thalmann, Moritz Fichtmüller will take over full responsibility as CEO in spring 2026.
