Jamie Snudden holds a PhD in aerospace engineering and has held several senior positions at Airborne, ranging from project engineer to Head of Sales for aerospace and defence. His career has enabled him to lead large-scale R&D projects, supervise teams of engineers and contribute to the digital transformation of composite manufacturing.
At Plyable, he will lead the sales team and work closely with customers to recommend the most efficient manufacturing approach, covering all stages of production, from prototyping and technical design to tooling, product creation and delivery. Passionate about aviation and advanced air mobility, he also stands out for his ability to develop strong partnerships with pioneering companies in R&D and innovative production methods.
This appointment comes at a strategic time for Plyable. The company recently welcomed a new CEO, Mark Runciman, and secured £3.2 million in funding to accelerate its international expansion and strengthen its technology offering. Jamie Snudden’s arrival completes a dynamic process of growth and consolidation of the management team.
From software to parts
Founded in 2018 by engineers Martin Oughton and Adam Lofts, Plyable has quickly established itself as a key player in the digital transformation of composite component manufacturing. The company has developed a platform capable of automatically analysing design files (CAD), generating instant quotes and optimising the manufacture of moulds and composite parts using artificial intelligence.
based in Oxford, UK, Plyable relies on a global network of ISO 9001-certified industrial partners equipped with 3- and 5-axis machines. This approach significantly reduces production lead times and guarantees a high level of quality. In 2019, Plyable sold its first customised, machine-driven composite software module, marking the beginning of its technology offering.
The company has since supported numerous projects in the commercial aviation, drone, eVTOL and space sectors, designing 14-metre wing spars, commercial aircraft interiors, fuselage structures and precision fasteners. Recently, Plyable expanded its offering to include the production of composite parts themselves, strengthening its position as an integrated player across the entire value chain.
With the arrival of Jamie Snudden and the support of its investors, Plyable confirms its mission: to make composite manufacturing faster, smarter and accessible to innovative players in aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
