Loop Technology (Dorchester, Bristol and Sheffield in U.K.) has announced a new arrival to its headquarters this month — a FANUC (Rochester Hills, Mich., U.S.) M-2000iA 2300 ultra-heavy payload robot. It is said to be the “strongest robot in the world,” with a payload of 2,300 kilograms and is able to lift and position entire cars, bulky castings, large-scale dies and molds.
The six-axis robot weighs in at 11 tonnes, has a maximum reach of 3.734 meters and a repeatability of ±0.18 millimeter. It is the latest addition to the family of M-2000iAs that Loop Technology has invested in the last year, with the 1700 version having an even longer reach and weighing more than the 2300 version, at nearly 4.7 meters and 12.5 tonnes, respectively
