Gurit’s Tianjin centre will focus on the research, development, analysis and testing of next-generation, high-performance composite technologies, particularly those based on PET materials. It will be located close to Gurit’s Tianjin PET manufacturing facility, which will streamline product launches, shorten development cycles and enable a faster response to innovation requirements. PET materials will be used in the wind energy sector as well as other industries. The Tianjin centre complements Gurit’s existing R&D and composite testing hubs in the UK, India and New Zealand. It is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.

The opening of this new centre marks a significant step in Gurit’s global strategy, both strengthening the company’s “R&D-to-production” capabilities and reaffirming its long-term commitment to the Chinese market.
