During his career at Vattenfall, Martijn has held various leadership roles, particularly Head of Business Areas Customers & Solutions and Heat and Managing Director of Vattenfall N.V. Netherlands. He has also held various positions at Nuon, a manufacturer of semiconductors for renewable energy owned by Vattenfall.
A recruitment process for a permanent successor for Martijn Hagens has started. In the meantime, the position of Head of BA Markets has been filled by Sjur Jensen, Vice President for the optimisation of Vattenfall productions assets, since 26 August 2025. As to Vattenfall N.V. Netherlands, it will be jointly managed by Alexander van Ofwegen and Cindy Kroon, executive board members, with a permanent successor to be appointed as CEO in the Netherlands.
