With decades of expertise in engineering, prototyping, and serial production, UBC adds world-class carbon fibre capability to AM Group’s portfolio. This step strengthens AM Group’s position in the premium automotive sector while also opening new opportunities in other demanding industries such as defence, yachting, aerospace and renewable energy.
For UBC’s existing OEM and high-end clients, continuity is guaranteed: the same people, the same quality, the same service. All 170 employees will remain on board, securing valuable expertise and ensuring stability. At the same time, UBC will benefit from new investment and additional business from within AM Group, providing a solid platform for renewed growth and innovation.
This acquisition enables AM Group to accelerate innovation in design, engineering and customisation, while expanding its ability to serve OEM and niche industry clients worldwide with even greater capability.
UBC will continue under its current leadership in Germany and Slovakia. There will be no changes to employment, locations or working conditions. AM Group is fully committed to growth, stability and maximising the technical and commercial synergies between its companies.
“With UBC, we are not only adding world-class carbon fibre production to our group, but also a strong team and a proven reputation for quality and innovation. This acquisition moves AM Group firmly into the Champions League of premium automotive engineering and advanced composites,” says Luis Carrera and Patrick Meijer, Founders AM Group.
“When selecting a partner for UBC, our priority was to secure both stability and growth. AM Group brings the right combination: financial strength, direct new business, and a strategic fit with our expertise in high-end carbon fibre. Together we can build on UBC’s reputation and position the company for a strong future, not only in premium automotive, but also in other complex niche sectors such as defence, yachting, aerospace, and renewable energy,” adds Peter Gerl, Managing Director of UBC Composites.
